Privacy Policy — Singularety

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Singularety (the "App") and its publisher ("we", "us", or "our") collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Important note: The Service is a location-based social networking and chat platform. It does not provide a Bitcoin/Lightning wallet and does not enable sending, receiving, holding, or transferring cryptocurrency within the App.

1. Interpretation and Definitions

Words with capitalized initial letters have meanings defined below. These definitions apply whether the words appear in singular or plural.

Definitions

"Account" means an account created to access the Service.

"Content" means information and materials users submit or make available through the Service (including profile details, messages, images, posts, group details, and event information).

"Device" means any device that can access the Service (such as a smartphone).

"Personal Data" means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

"Service Provider" means a third party that processes data on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, customer support, and payment processing partners).

"Usage Data" means information collected automatically when using the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from third-party services you use to access the Service.

2.1 Information you provide

Depending on how you use the Service, you may provide:

  • Account information: name, username, email address, city, profile photo, bio, and preferences.
  • User-generated content: messages, group chat content, posts, event listings, comments, and any other content you submit.
  • Support communications: information you provide when you contact us (including attachments and logs you choose to share).

2.2 Information collected automatically (Usage Data)

When you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Device identifiers and technical data (device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone).
  • Log and diagnostics data (crash logs, performance data, error reports).
  • Usage information (features used, timestamps, pages/screens viewed, interactions).

2.3 Payments and subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription through Apple Pay, Google Play, or a payment gateway such as Razorpay, the transaction is processed by the relevant payment provider. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive purchase and subscription status information to provide entitlements, customer support, and fraud prevention.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and operate the Service (account creation, chat, groups, events, and location-based discovery).
  • Personalize and improve the Service (recommendations, feature optimization, troubleshooting).
  • Safety, integrity, and moderation (detect abuse/spam, enforce Community Guidelines, respond to reports, investigate violations).
  • Customer support (respond to requests and resolve issues).
  • Communications (service updates, security alerts, and important notices).
  • Legal compliance (comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and enforce our terms).

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following cases:

4.1 With other users

Certain information you choose to make public or share (such as username, profile photo, bio, and content you post in groups/events) may be visible to other users. Messages are shared with intended recipients and relevant group members based on your actions.

4.2 With Service Providers

We may share information with Service Providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, customer support, and similar). They are permitted to process information only for our instructions and purposes described in this policy.

4.3 For legal reasons and safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with a legal obligation or lawful request;
  • enforce our Terms of Use;
  • prevent, investigate, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or us.

4.4 Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, re-organization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required by law.

4.5 With your consent

We may disclose information for any other purpose with your consent.

5. Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for the other purposes described in this policy, including compliance with legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and context. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with your account within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain certain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

7.1 In-app controls

You can typically access and update certain account information in the App.

7.2 Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account from within the App. We also provide a web-based option to request deletion, as required by Google Play policies.

7.3 Rights under applicable law

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, such as access, correction, updating, deletion, withdrawal of consent (where processing is based on consent), and grievance redressal. In India, these rights may be available under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (as and when applicable) and other laws. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. International Transfers

We may store and process information in India and other countries where we or our Service Providers operate. If information is transferred across borders, we take steps designed to ensure appropriate protections are in place consistent with this policy and applicable law.

10. Links to Third-Party Services

The Service may include links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. You should review their policies before using them.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the App and/or on our website and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
